Sarah N Tuned gives cars "the beans" on her YouTube channel, putting various sports cars through the paces and nerding out on technical details. As a former Aerospace mechanic, Sarah is very comfortable getting underneath cars and literally measuring the exact dimensions of parts. From reviewing hot hatches such as the 2023 Toyota Corolla GR to driving a Mercedes GLA 250, Sarah posts videos about all kinds of different cars.

With that in mind, Sarah is back with a new video focused on the electric car segment. This time, she is reviewing the 2023 Kia EV6 GT. In her usual fashion, Sarah drops plenty of one-liners in this entertaining review of Kia's new electric sports car offering.

Dual Motor 2023 Kia EV6 GT Puts Down 578 HP

The 2023 Kia EV6 GT is the top-of-the-line performance model within the EV6 lineup. Those looking for the longest battery range and cheapest price tag would be better served by the "Wind" trim EV6. The GT has a host of upgrades over the standard model including dual electric motors (front and back) powering the AWD setup. Both motors combine for a total of 578 HP and 545 lb-ft of torque.

While the power numbers are by all means impressive, Sarah reminds of just how much weight that power has to push down the road. The car weighs in at 4,795 lbs. and Sarah feels that weight as the Kia struggles to slow to a complete stop after she slams on the brakes during a braking test.

Sarah explains that The Kia EV6 GT is a car of compromises. The GT driving mode gives the most smiles per mile but also provides the lowest battery range. Even in standard driving mode, the car has a sub-200 mile of total range. Still, boasting a 0-60 time of just 3.4 seconds, the Kia EV6 GT gives other EVs a run for their money including high-end names like the Porsche Taycan.

In a growing market segment, the Kia EV6 GT does have competition. Sarah states that she personally prefers the looks and styling of the Hyundai IONIQ 5. Her main qualm with the Kia is lazy handling due to the relatively heavy overall weight of the car. That said, she rates the 2023 Kia EV6 GT quite high overall with acceleration and behind-the-wheel fun factor being its strong points.
